Jang Choong Dong Korean Restaurant (JCDKR) brings the bold and comforting flavors of Korea to Houston.
Our name is inspired by Jang Choong Dong, a place in Seoul, Korea, well known for its Jokbal culture. Jokbal is one of Korea’s most popular comfort foods — tender pork hock slowly braised in a savory soy-based sauce with garlic, ginger, and spices. It is sliced and served for sharing, often enjoyed wrapped in fresh lettuce with dipping sauces, garlic, peppers, kimchi, and other Korean side dishes.
But our story is more than Jokbal. We also serve many of Korea’s favorite comfort dishes, including Bossam, Soondae, Soondae Kuk, Dweji Gukbap, Gamja Tang, Galbi Jungsik, and hearty meal plates made for family and friends.

Nuestro nombre está inspirado en Jang Choong Dong, una zona de Seúl, Corea, conocida por su cultura del Jokbal. El Jokbal es uno de los platos tradicionales más apreciados de Corea: codillo de cerdo cocido lentamente en una sabrosa salsa a base de soya con ajo, jengibre y especias, hasta quedar tierno y lleno de sabor. Se corta en rebanadas para compartir y suele disfrutarse envuelto en lechuga fresca, acompañado de salsas, ajo, chiles, kimchi y otros acompañamientos coreanos.
